Musical Muses
The foundation of music was clearly instrumental for this collection of classically inspired looks. To achieve the vision, Chicago-based hair artist Tracy Guthrie Vastag developed the concept taking creative inspiration from design elements found within musical instruments.
Fluidity by Ulta
Aptly titled Fluidity, the Ulta Beauty Artistic Team has unveiled a new collection of six aquatic-inspired looks featuring cut, color and texture. Inspired by runway trends seen at New York Fashion Week, the Ulta Beauty team crafted a delicately fluid series of hair statements with contrasting textures and a distinct movement of free, flowing pieces. Choosing a palette steeped in deep steely blue and spanning through smoky blushes, the Artistic Team released signature styles that are evocative of the ocean.
Paper Kut
‘Paper Kut’ is an immersive avant-garde collection of fine art pieces, where craftsmanship and the exploration of differing hair types become an art form that reflects the editorial pages of a high-end fashion publication such as Italian Vogue. The finished looks take inspiration from hair in all its differing types and textures as fine art pieces.
Jagged Terrain
The latest collection by Melbourne-based husband and wife team Jamie Furlan and Danielle Solier of Xiang Hair, Jagged Terrain is inspired by the Japanese view of Wabi-Sabi: the nurturing of all that is authentic and beautiful through the acknowledgment of three simple realities: nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect.
