Hair Expo Awards 2019
Over 850 dedicated hair professionals recently gathered to witness the announcement of the winners of the Hair Expo Awards ceremony at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Sydney's Darling Harbour. For the 2019 edition, 115 finalists across 19 creative and business categories were selected by a judging panel of 11 international and 10 local judges. The business categories were judged by five additional panel members of business esteem. The judging panel represents some of the most acclaimed industry veterans from across the globe.
Ending Hair Discrimination
California is poised to become the first state in the union to ban racial discrimination based on natural hair. As reported by the Los Angeles Times, the California State Assembly has voted unanimously to pass SB 188, also known as the CROWN Act, intending to protect people with braids, twists, cornrows, and other traditionally black hairstyles from racist grooming policies.
ISSE 2020 Long Beach
The show floor was abuzz at ISSE with an array of salon and spa focused suppliers with a trend toward sustainable products and an increase in the volume of CBD product offerings. As always, the expo was ideal for those looking to shop tools, appliances, and hair extension options. The new Beauty Focus section showcased the lastest in hair and skin care, makeup, and tools, while various natural brands made a showing in a new Green Beauty area.
BHA 2019 Finalists
Following an intense day of judging at the Queens Stand, Epsom Racecourse with 96 judges on the panel, the finalists for the 2019 British Hairdressing Awards have been announced. This year more industry experts than ever before attended the first round of judging. The awards will take place on Monday, November 25, 2019, at JW Marriott Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London, W1.
