Artwear by Mazella & Palmer in collaboration with Fudge Professional takes inspiration from conceptual 3D fashion, which blurs the boundaries between art, sculpture and performance. Mazella & Palmer looked at the work of artist Rebecca Horn and the way she extends and manipulates shapes using the body as a wearable sculpture. This was combined with designers such as Issey Miyake, Comme des Garçon and Pierre Cardin.
“Our cutting techniques always combine foundation shapes with the use of disconnections. In this particular collection, there was a focus on the Fudge Professional Headpaint colours so we worked with softer shapes, softer outlines and flowing disconnected layers to give movement to the hair. Also key to this collection was to create looks that were clear in technique with a minimal feel, mirroring the inspiration behind the couture. Working with the new Headpaint Oz Rocks Intense Reds colour pallet, clean blondes and silvers, the collection techniques used showcase shine, colour and placements. The primary shapes - round, square and triangle - were used in conjunction with foiling and complete colouring techniques. The shine, long lasting and true tones of the Headpaint range are a salon staple.” - Mazella & Palmer International Creative Team
