Styling Dolce & Gabbana

More than 150 people recently gathered in Miami's Design District to commemorate the opening of Dolce & Gabbana’s new South Florida two-story, 5,402-square-foot space. The iconic fashion house threw a festive two-day event that included a runway show that showcased a stunning collection of men’s and women’s fashions, and a sit-down dinner. Style the Runway’s backstage beauty team led by Woody and Amy Michleb designed the hair, makeup, and nail looks for the fashion show as the main feature of the opening event.

For the hairstyles, a fresh take on classic ‘40s styles was created using colorful flowers and a very clean finish to represent the Latin-Miami flair of the area. Three of the four looks kept the hair up, and off the face in various victory rolls, while keeping a smooth, flawless finish. Once the hair was done, the styles were completed with a selection of orchids and lilies, with some rare versions flown in from around the world especially for the event.

“It is always important for us to ensure that any time we do a show where the designers allow us creative license, that we can show off the talent and artistic abilities of hairdressers,” said Style the Runway Artistic Director and CEO Woody Michleb.

The Dolce & Gabbana nail lacquer used was called Fire and makeup lead Nikki Carmela mixed a matching lip color out of pure pigments to ensure that all models were cohesive. The skin was glowy and bronzed with a simple ombré eye from light to brown and a small winged eyeliner.

Needless to say, the evening was fun, vibrant and fitting for Miami...And the hair, makeup, and nails, thanks to Style the Runway, was on-point!
