A blunt edge is topped off with face-framing layers and a side-bang.

Apply styling lotion or smoothing balm (depending on your hair texture) on damp hair and blow-dry in sections using a paddle brush, using tension to set a sleek finish. Smooth a flat iron over the ends and then use a dab of pomade to pinch and twist the ends to detail.

These long sleek strands are very popular with teens. For Danielle, stylist Kristin Wilson of The David Salon in Costa Mesa, California created long layers that were shattered all over for movement and texture.

Her dark auburn base has lighter auburn panels running through for a delicate shimmer of contrast.

Joelene had long one length strands in her natural dark brown hue. Stylist and hair extension specialist Kathy Reed of Pon international in Anaheim Hills, California cleaned up the ends, added a few longer layers for soft movement and thick, full bangs to frame her face.

Heather had length just barely to her shoulders and she desperately wanted long and luxurious locks. To oblige, hair extension specialist Nicole Martin of Art started by freshening up her color. Heather’s previously colored hair had some (level 6-7) regrowth so Nicole applied a heavy weave then added a gloss over the top to instill shine.

Brandee’s fine, thin hair was just barely past her shoulders with some (level 5) regrowth. Nicole first corrected the roots then brightened up the blonde with highlights and a clear gloss. Next over 10 inches of length was added using human hair extensions utilizing the Great Lengths keratin bond system for volume as well as major length. After cutting the extensions to blend into her natural hair, Nicole used a medium hold working spray and set the hair on hot rollers to add height on top.

Erika missed her long hair, so stylist and extension specialist Jaime Queenin of PON International in Anaheim Hills, CA applied 18 inches of human hair extensions matching Erika’s existing color.

To style, Pon International Sealant leave in conditioner and Turn it up spray were added all over before rough-drying to remove the moisture.  Medium sized sections of hair were applied with da flex working spray and curled into very loose spirals. Jaime finished using just her fingers, pulling strands of curls here and there to lightly piece.

To create this Bridgette Bardot (or 60’s Sex Kitten) inspired look, the team started with her existing light blonde highlighted color. This look was a major color conversion, requiring a mega-dose of Redken strengthening and protective treatments, which were used to maintain long lasting richness.  The final result was produced by using a combination of different red and copper tones.  The foundation color is a rich (level 5) copper with a sprinkle of (level 6) lighter copper orange, and peaking out from underneath a deep (level 4) red brown.
