For Lauryn, Art Director Stephen Mendelson of Studio C Salon in Irvine, California created a medium geometric cut with a very lineal, architectural feel to the structure. A strong underneath perimeter is accented by a soft overlay of disconnected layers.
For the color, a rich red is interlaced with dark brown, medium brown and purple panels. The placement is in ¼ inch sections done in a circular pattern based on the curvature of the head. This created a very rounded feel to the color to offset the square-ness of the cut.
To style, Stephen blow-dried with a Denman brush then finished by piecing with Aveda Control Paste. For a rougher look the hair is pulled outward and applied with a working spray then is pieced with more Control Paste.
