Detlef Gehlhaar's Golden Age of Cultural Innovation
The Weimar Republic of the 1920s brought forth an exciting free spirit of creativity and culture. During this time, the golden age of the avant-garde bloomed and grew leading to the Bauhaus and many other artistic and cultural innovations. This spirit enraptured Berlin and gave the city a creative vibrancy and energy during the 20s – a time that was lost under the cloud of history but is now being re-lived. This series reflects the spirit of lightness, color, and creative exploration that defined Berlin then, as it does again today.
