This long updated shag with its piecey appeal is a perfect solution for those who love their length yet want an updated style. The color is a cooler violet base with 3 D disconnected highlights, which were placed freehand in very thin slices. Larger slivers of a coppery warm red offset small slices of two levels of red violet.

To style, spray gel and thickening spray are used on the hair while wet to create a controlled volume. Using a round brush, the hair is blow-dried while directing the ends neatly under. Sections are flat ironed as needed then pieced with a shine wax.

This highly shattered look is done with scissors and texturizing shears, which gives a piecey cut that becomes more tapered into the neck. To accentuate the texture and movement in the cut, the color is a golden brown for the base with a mix of warm copper streaks and some subtle golden highlights.

This boldly rounded chin length bob by Channelle Tatman of Fantastic Sams in Irvine, California is beveled at the bottom to neatly roll under. Add volumizing mousse on damp hair and blow dry with a round brush for volume. Use a few drops of shine serum on your palms to smooth down any flyaways.

Get The Look: Styling cream is applied on the wet hair before blow-drying with a round brush and flat ironing while rolling the hair under. Pomade over the top creates the right amount of shine and control.

To style, a root boost is applied throughout the crown and Biosilk through the ends before rough-drying the hair. Once completely dry, the length is flat ironed tapping the underneath slightly upward and out to hug around the face. Shine spray gives the perfect finish.
