Moroccanoil has announced the appointment of Jay Elarar as chief executive officer. Elarar will spearhead new product innovation and strategies for bringing products to the market while optimizing global operations at the company. As CEO, he will draw on his experience in the professional channel to drive growth. He will also advance its omnichannel approach and leverage high-growth channels within eCommerce, travel retail, retail, and international markets.

SENTÉ, a specialty aesthetics company, announces the appointment of Adelle Walker as chief marketing officer. Walker brings over 15 years of dermatology and aesthetics industry experience to the company and is known for building new markets with portfolios of products to take leadership positions. As the chief marketing officer Adelle will take an executive leadership role in defining pipeline strategy along with internal and external portfolio planning. Her commercialization leadership will span across all facets of communications from marketing to professional relations, education, and consumer promotion.

SalonInteractive has appointed Patty Schmucker as president. She joins the company from The Kirshner Group (TKG) where, as director of strategic business development, she worked closely with SalonInteractive as part of her focus on innovation and the beauty industry supply chain. Schmucker started her career as a licensed and practicing cosmetologist and owned and operated salons in Arizona, Montana, and California. Before TKG, Schmucker was the founder of American Made Beauty, which provided education and verification services to beauty brands to achieve success in domestic and international sales. She was also the host of the American Made Beauty Podcast, where she interviewed 225 salon industry leaders.

JCPenney has announced the promotion of Rachel Jud to vice president and divisional merchandise manager of salons. In her new role, Jud is responsible for leading more than 750 JCPenney salons and Salon by InStyle locations, including more than 10,000 stylists nationwide. She will focus on fostering successful partnerships within the company and with external vendors. Jud will also drive field, education, and home office associates to deliver a salon experience that exceeds client expectations and creates long-term loyalty to JCPenney.

Kao Salon Division announced several changes within the U.S. and Americas Region leadership teams. The first change includes promoting Scott Guinter as general manager for the USA salon division. In his new role, Guinter will lead the U.S. organization. Scott began his Kao career in 1996 and worked in several positions of increasing responsibility before leaving the company to start his own business in 2007. Scott re-joined Kao in 2011 as the Leader of the Independent Distributor Channel. Recently, Scott led the Direct Sales Team, the Chain Team, and he played a critical role in the Oribe integration. Guinter will be relocating to New York City and will continue to work closely with the Oribe organization.

Kao Salon Division also promoted Andrea DeLeon to the director of commercial strategy and planning and director of marketing for the Americas region. DeLeon will assume the newly created position DeLeon began her career with Kao in 2005 as the U.S. Director of Marketing, developing brand positioning for Goldwell and KMS. After being promoted to the vice president of marketing in 2012, she successfully launched the VARIS tools line and the relaunch of the Kerasilk. Before joining Kao USA, she held a director position with DAP, Inc.

The third promotion for Kao Salon Division is for Sandra Humphries as the director of education for the Americas region. In her new role, Humphries will lead the education team in partnership with both global salon and local countries.

Developlus, a color and formula development company based in Southern California, has announced two new hires. The company welcomes Vice President of Marketing Jenniffer Paulson and Director of Sales Sherry Kudren, as the latest additions to the leadership team.

Vice President of Marketing Jenniffer Paulson will oversee the marketing team for all Developlus brands to drive sales and execute creative strategies. Her expertise in sales, data insight, consumerism, and planning prove as an asset for Developlus as the company works to increase sales and product lines.

With over 20 years of experience in leadership and market expansion, Sherry Kudren has joined the Developlus team as sales director, Professional, and OTC. Her expertise in analyzing market opportunities, implementing creative programs and initiatives to achieve desired results will play a key role in growing Developlus' sales for numerous brands.
