 To style, layer in PON International Sealant leave in conditioner and Elevate at the root. Blow dry straight using a round brush, then flat iron from the root to the ends for a smooth sleekness. For a soother look Shynie spray laminate seals the deal.

Her naturally dark brown color is lifted one shade and highlighted in a shimmery gold with medium slices throughout the top. To style the hair straight, Pon International Sealant leave in conditioner and Pon Söön styling cream are cocktailed together and applied while the hair is wet. After blow-drying with a round brush, the strands are flat ironed for sleekness and applied with Frizz Free for shine and control.

For a current curly look, volumizing tonic is worked in at the base on wet hair then is pulled through the ends. The top of the crown through the fringe is blow-dried towards face for a flatter effect. From the top of the crown all the way down in back and on the sides, small sections are pin curled. A Marcell iron and a light dusting of hairspray are used to create the curls, which are individually clipped in place to cool. Once set, the clips are undone and the hair is lightly brushed through. Leaving as much curl as possible, the hair is backcombed slightly at the base for volume.

This mid length cut delicately frames the face with long and lower layers. Stylist Rashidah Thomas-Eady of Fantastic Sams in Culver City, California first used a relaxer on the natural curl then styled with a defrizzing balm, blow-drying with a large round brush and finishing with a gloss.

The perimeter of this popular mid length features strong lines around the face while the interior was texturized with longer layers.  Channel cutting provided an internal disconnected under layer to work with the hairline and control the natural nappy texture.

For this color, a star pattern was sectioned out on the top of her head starting from the part, and then a dark velvet blonde is applied. A rich chocolate brown was used for the rest of the hair, while a few golden blonde highlights are randomly placed throughout the star pattern to create even more depth.

Very bold cut with different levels of geometric bangs or fringe, this shattered look is also heavily layered for lots of movement.

To create a ’rock & roll’ edge, flat-wrap hair agains the shape of the head using a paddle brush while blow-drying and then piecd out with styling paste until the desired style is achieved.
