Shoulder Length

Fantastic Sams stylist Guadalupe Mariscal of Corona, California created two pigtails for Emily that were separated by a wide-set zigzag part in back. Each ponytail was twisted into a bun with the ends left sprigging out. A small amount of Fantastic Sams Pomade was used to piece the ends into shape.

Jodi Renteria of Fantastic Sams in Barstow, California covered Nicolette’s oldred brown base with grown out blonde chucks with a rich brown all over. Next she applied a razor cut with messy layers a heavy side swept bang and lots of texture all over. To style, Fantastic Sams Volumizing Spray was spritzed onto towel-dried hair before blowing it dry with a round brush, Once dry, the crown was teased at the root for volume and the length was flat ironed for sleekness. Shine Spray was added over the top for a glossy finish and Pomade was used to lightly piece the ends.

Shoulder-touching layers offer soft, barely-there waves.

Get the Look: Prep hair with styling lotion (or straightening balm if you have natural curl) and blow dry sections with a round brush. Mist larger sections with thermal styling spray and wrap around a medium curling iron. Hold a few seconds to set the curl and then release. Continue until all sections are done, rolling away from your face in front and back and forth in back. Shake your hair out and finger style into place. Mist with a light finishing spray to hold.

Kerrin’s hair was past her shoulders, falling mostly to one length drastically elongating her face. Her color was an overly dark brown with very little dimension.  She was using at home haircolor to cover her prematurely graying hair and the pigment was grabbing making it look even darker than it needed to be. The specific shade of brown also made her skin tone look very cool and unhealthy.

Ksenia did some experimenting with her color. Her hair was previously applied with a black and green-based henna, which stained the cuticle, making it impossible to lift back out. Luckily two years of growth made the ends the only area that was still affected. The rest of the hair was brown with gold highlights. Her length was to the middle of her back with some very short and not so flattering layers.

Niki had just a solid one-tone red color with shapeless and grown out length. Stylist Kellie Fifield of Alexander’s Grand Salon and Spa in Anaheim Hills, California updated her look starting with the color. She applied a very asymmetrical feel using different shades of red within the same family of color.

Tiara’s highlyversatile mid length cut was done by cutting with a razor for a highly textured, jagged feel. Layers were placed all over but were heavily concentrated in the bottom to round out the look. Long, side swept bangs complete the style and boldly frame her face.

Much like her cut, her color offers a deep and dramatic feel. First Pon warmed up her naturally darker brown base, then he placed highlights in the front to add dimension and instill some subtle movement.

The color was lightened up with a highlight placed throughout her natural brown shade for a highly dimensional and honey-rich feel.

The perimeter of her cut was crafted with a more solid outline with most of the layering being done internally. Next Pon sculpted longer bangs or fringe and tons of layers, including some shorter layers to give a rounded volume on top.

A soft, pale baby blonde then applied a versatile shoulder length cut.  Longer and natural-looking layers were applied all over with some shorter layers on top for volume as well as around her face.
