Shay wanted something new for her thick and naturally wavy hair but didn’t want to commit to color. She absolutely loved having length but her natural texture was difficult to deal with. Stylist and extension specialist Jaime Queenin of PON International stated the new look by adding several inches of length with dark brown beaded hair extensions. Blonde and medium brown pieces were added to break up the solidness of her natural color and give a fun edge overall.

Before applying the extensions, Shay’s hair was prepped with a leave in conditioner and Diamond Glass by Goldwell. Jaime flat ironed section by section and then flat ironed each set of extensions before installing. Once the extensions were secured, she flat ironed again. The extensions were then dry cut visually with both scissors and a razor to blend into her natural hair. She also added shorter side bangs, which were texturized slightly. A small amount of PON International du da du was used to piece out the style and help tame any flyaways. The end result is a soft, silky and touchable style that is easy to recreate at home.
