According to Borja Carbonell of Salón Carlos Valiente, Afterwork is a manly collection inspired by American war cinema. They looked to films like “Fury”, “Age of Heroes” or “Fly Boys”, all based in the Second World War. Each scene showcases the soldiers relaxing and searching for a leisurely time in a classic American pub. Locals with billiards, darts and poker tables, jukebox music, laughter, guy talk, and soldier fights, with flirty girls drawing attension between whiskey shots and beer.
"Regarding the cuts and hairstyles," states Carbonell in translated English, "we have tried to create several types of cuts in function of the different military ranks like: the “Pompadour”, giving a “hipster” touch, the “Bob” with a very blunt fringe, a “Jobo” cut in an edge shape at the top, and a side headline cut, creating a disconnection at the other side, playing with shapes and textures always similar to the aesthetic of the corresponding military style.
