Fashion week is always a great place for style inspiration for fashion, hair, and makeup, and this year certainly did not disappoint. The hair experts at Bumble and bumble stepped up to complete looks for many of the show's designers - walking away having created the next trend for hair on the catwalk. These slicked-back and braided low looks complement the fashion and add a sense of modern elegance to each look.

This season’s fashion week in New York showcased a mix of hair finishes. Everything from super-sleek, polished lengths, buns, and braids to a mass download of texture. A raw texture made an appearance in all of its glory and ranged from frizz to waves, curl and even kink. Designers from ECRU, Bumble and Bumble, and Oribe offered these trend observations and easy how-to steps t get the look in the salon or at home.

Lead Stylist Anthony Turner for Hot Tools embraced the natural texture of hair, highlighting the juxtaposition of matte and shiny texture to create a messy yet chic pulled back hair look. Pulling inspiration from Prabal Gurung’s SS19 collection that showcases the intersection of Nepalese heritage and global street style, Turner created a look for the woman who is on the go and pulls back her hair in an effortless way.

At New York Fashion Week, Nicole Miller’s latest collection tastefully returned to the ‘80s with Pretty Woman-esque blazers, bold prints and a youthful Gen-Z twist. To play into the ‘80s mania, Oribe Director of Training & Content Kien Hoang tapped into a natural and unstructured texture. The result is a perfectly-done then un-done look inspired by the end of a night out on the town.
