Intricate stitches performed by surgeons, sutures restore or enhance the continuity to the body’s tissue and skin. These precise stitches always pass unnoticed and make any trace of the intervention seamlessly disappear. In his collection dubbed Suture, hair artist Gonzalo Zarauza applied this oh-sew-fun concept to the hair, but with the opposite purpose. The stitches are sewn on the surface of the hair to showcase them. The technique involves purposely weaving through uniform sections using embroidery thread, ending with a tress tapestry of delicate stitch work.
