Oribe @ Men's FW

Join the educators for Oribe as they design the various hair looks for Men’s Day at New York Fashion Week for Fall/Winter 2018.

The Diplomacy aesthetic embodies individual street style mixed with pieces that are timelessly chic. Mimicking the style of the collection, Oribe Educator Davide Marinelli enhanced each model’s natural texture. For the short-hair models, Davide gave military cuts and finished with Star Glow Styling Wax for reflection.

Get the Look:

  • Prep hair with Foundation Mist.
  • Diffuse hair and stretch each strand by hand for added volume.
  • Apply Dry Texturizing Spray at the roots for body.
  • Finish hair with Shine Light Reflecting Spray for extra shine.

For the Fall/Winter 2018, the Descendants of Thieves collection was inspired by the modern-day fox hunt and English tradition. With the model as the fox and the audience playing the hunter, Oribe Educator Christian Ceja-Compin split the cast in two to create a dandy style and a punk look.

Get the Look: Dandy

  • Prep with Foundation Mist.
  • Apply Maximista Thickening Spray from roots to ends and power dry.
  • Create a strong side part and push Rough Luxury Molding Wax through hair using a comb.
  • Pin hair down to create flatness and diffuse.
  • Spritz a highlighting comb with Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray and tame hairline edges.

Oribe Educator Louis Orozco created polished hair with a strong fringe to complement the beautifully tailored, monochromatic suits in the P.L.C. New York presentation. Chunky, separated bangs and strong lines were cut into each model’s hair prior to styling.

Get the Look:

  • Wet hair with Foundation Mist.
  • Apply Rock Hard Gel to wet hair to achieve a sleek, shiny look.
  • Spray Superfine Strong Hair Spray to set and diffuse the product in.
  • Finish with Rough Luxury Molding Wax in the front to make fringe chunky and separated.

Preaching a new mindset and a take-charge attitude, this season’s Wood House presentation was acid punk electrified. Oribe Educator Dan Nguyen went all out with neon spray-painted hues on the hair that enhanced the theme of individuality and strong youth culture.

Get the Look:

  • Prep hair with Foundation Mist to wake up the texture.
  • For a lived-in look, apply Grandiose Hair Plumping Mousse to the bends of the hair.
  • For longer lengths, apply Curl Control Silkening Crème and finish with Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil.
  • Use Featherbalm Weightless Styler for a light finish.

Life in Perfect Disorder was inspired by the aspirational idea of cool kids on a Saturday night. Oribe Educator Dan Nguyen help set this scene by accompanying each alternative look with lived-in hair and a matte finish.
