INSPIRED BY THE FORMATIONS OF THOUSANDS OF STARLINGS
Candice Mckay’s latest collection was inspired by the murmuration or collective movement of starlings. She mimicked the geometric shape that the birds form in the haircuts using texturing techniques to emulate their open wings. The starlings’ iridescent feathers influenced the color pallet and the sectioning patterns taking note of the luminous colors that seem to change when seen from different angles. The overall look created a harmonious effect between organic shapes and geometry.
