Juxtaposed Styling

Pitting smooth against textured and dark against light, this collection of opposing statements offers a unique look at wearable hair art. The Southern California based design team at The David Salon went for varying accounts of the same cut, shown styled two very different ways.

The Looks

This chic razor cut is graduated in the back while the edge is chipped into to break up the solidness.

With a copper background, snow white and deep purple accent colors add dimension and interest while a glaze over the top provides luster and seals in the richness.

Get The Look (Half Textured):

Apply Goldwell Double Boost at the root and Gel Lagoom Jam all over before blow-drying hair smooth with a round brush. Run a flat iron through to smooth areas on one side and then curl sections on the other side with a 1.25-inch iron. Work through the curly side with KMS Hair Play Messing Cream and detail with Dry Wax.

Get The Look (Smooth):

Apply Goldwell Double Boost at the root and Gel Lagoom Jam all over on damp hair.  After blow-drying smooth with a round brush, flat iron as needed.

Use a ½-inch curling iron on small sections all over. Once all hair is curled, break up sections with fingers and then finish with Goldwell Magic Finish and Diamond Gloss.

Get The Look (Smooth):

Apply Goldwell Kerasilk Control for smoothing and Reconstruct as a blow dry spray. Blow dry hair with a round brush, flat iron the ends as needed and then finish with Spin Shine Gloss and Playable Texture for added pieceiness.

Use a flat iron on sections underneath to create variations of texture with random curls. Finish with Natural Revolt.

Get The Look (Smooth):

Starting on dry hair, finger wave through the hair using a flat iron to create ridges back and forth on each section. Undo sections using Goldwell Playable Texture and pin up on one side for an offset balance to the hairstyle.
