Cataldo’s Salon Tour

Cataldo's Salon

"The team at Cataldo’s are excited and privileged to present this new and exciting experience to our area of Canberra."
-Emilio Cataldo

Giuseppe Cataldo opened his namesake business in 1965 with a few barber chairs for men and styling chairs for women. Over fifty years later, the third generation of this hairdressing family celebrates the patriarch’s legacy with yet another industry honor. Cataldo’s new location in Ainslie Place was recently nominated for Australia’s prestigious Expo Awards for salon design.

This new salon in Canberra offers a modern design with an opulent atmosphere that rivals any metropolitan city in the world. A three-meter wide solid concrete blade-wall was locally made as were lighting fixtures from F!nk Design. Maletti Group, a global leader in salon furnishings, hand-selected the Italian-made furniture. The opulence continues with shining mirrored signage and a floor-to-ceiling glass shop front with a one-of-a-kind view of the park.

The salon's many workspaces are moveable to create a social hub in the center of the facility while clients' color processes or to clear room for educational experiences for team members. A fully stocked and integrated bar continues the social vibe for clients, while the secluded shampoo area offers oversized basins and shampoo lounges that encourage relaxation and comfort.

Much like the man who started it all, Cataldo’s reputation is recognized internationally through its impressive portfolio of work, which includes media coverage, magazine covers, and various editorials. The creative team is also highly sought-after for its expertise and trendsetting inspiration.
