Liann had very long, naturally coarse hair with no shine to the finish. Stylist and multicultural hair specialist Nadine Branch of PON International of Anaheim Hills, California started a new look by creating a strong 45-degee angle to the cut, leaving a unique perimeter to Liann’s ultra long hair.

To prep Liann’s lengthy strands for this shinny, sleek look, Nadine used a clarifying shampoo and conditioner to remove any product or environmental build up to help start with a clean cuticle. After applying a light leave-in conditioner, Nadine carefully combed through to detangle the hair. Then she clipped it up and set LiAnn under a hood dryer to allow the cuticle to close with the heat. Once Liann’s hair was about 70% dry, Nadine took out the clips and finished removing the moisture with a blow-dryer and a flat paddle brush.  From there she silkened the hair by using traditional Marcel thermal flat iron. Taking medium sections, Nadine ran a properly heated thermal flat iron through Liann’s hair, smoothing carefully from the roots to the ends.
