Olaplex is a hairdresser’s insurance that they can take their clients color to new levels without compromising the integrity of the hair. Without silicone or oils, Olaplex is a three-step pro-only process that works using single ingredient chemistry. This formula links broken bonds in the hair during and after chemical services and makes the bonds stronger than they were before the treatment.
The process starts with Olaplex Bond Multiplier, which is added directly into the color or lightener and then Bond Perfector is used after the color or lightener is rinsed from the hair. Hair Perfector No. 3, the third step, is done at home once a week to further strengthen the hair.
Olaplex was founded by beauty entrepreneur, Dean Christal. With one ingredient, the creators, Dr. Craig Hawker, PHD in Chemistry, and Dr. Eric Pressly, PHD in Materials, set out to achieve a way to repair damaged, broken hair. After much in-salon testing, Olaplex was found to be compatible with all hair types from virgin to highly compromised and able to be used in every salon service.
