Whitney originally had length down to her shoulders in a medium auburn brown hue with slightly lighter ends. Stylist and extension specialist, Kira Boranian of Alexander’s Grand Salon and Spa in Anaheim Hills, California started her new look by flat ironing her hair and applying several inches of human hair extensions. Once all of the extensions were in place, they were cut to blend seamlessly into her natural hair.

A partial weave was then done using a series of four colors ranging from dark to lighter blonde with lighter brown low lights. To some of the pieces, Kira produced a “fade into light effect” with a darker color at the base and a lighter color towards the ends. The end result of the color is a caramel blonde with a very soft and natural flavor.

To create the finished style, Kira first cleansed and conditioned Whitney’s hair with a hydrating shampoo and conditioner, which is best for the hair extensions. A leave in conditioner was applied to towel-dried hair, then after combing through, a blow dry lotion was used all over and volumizing mousse was added at the base for lift. The hair was blow-dried for volume using a round brush starting with the bang area to ensure a nice side part. After the front was dry, the rest of the hair was dried starting at the nape of the neck and working upward from there.

Once completely dry, the hair was flat ironed around the face for control. Next an extra large1.5-inch curling iron was used to roll through the hair and give a slight bump to bring out the texture of the cut and provoke a soft bodified volume.  A medium to strong hold hair spray was spritzed over the top for all day hold then spray shine was used for added luster.
