Greg Young has called Fort Lauderdale, Florida, his home for decades - it’s where he resides as a proud family man, talented barber, successful business owner, and local philanthropist looking to spread the good. But things have not always been so perfect for Greg. His young life was unstable; his mother was caught up with the wrong crowd and was rarely there for him and his brother.

Greg Young made the decision to become and stay sober in 2013 and has since founded Noblemen’s Cut & Shave - a very successful small business in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He has never forgotten where he came from and the challenges he faced along the way. As a thank you to the community that gave him so much, Greg founded The Backpack Barber Foundation.

Winner of the Salon Interior Design category for the 2018 Contessa Awards, Verde Salon in the heart of Bridgewater in Winnipeg, Canada is all about paving the way for other salons. Verde owner Roberto Sinopoli grew up in Winnipeg after his parents moved to Canada. He was exposed to the hair industry from an early age by his mother who owned a salon. As an adult, Roberto's love for hair continued to shape his career; he opened two of his own salons and was a significant player in bringing the Aveda Institute to Winnipeg.

It’s not often that the opportunity arises to sit down with the equivalent of royalty in the hair industry, but we were fortunate to do so with Kris Sorbie - Redken Education Artistic Director and President of Kris Sorbie Inc. This two-time Master Stylist winner and seven-time nominee and finalist of the prestigious North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) has been Lead Stylist in many New York and LA Fashion Week shows. She's also been a guest speaker at TeenVogue Fashion University and for several years, board member and judge for NAHA, as well as many other international industry awards. In 2014 she was named ‘Icon of Color’ - a prestigious honor granted to her for the first time by Intercoiffure USA.
