Steal Her Style

Take a little style inspiration from the ever-elegant Amal Clooney with this easy hair tutorial. Add volume on top and voluptuous curl and wave through the length with this alluring side-parted statement.

To get this look, start with towel-dried strands and work through styling lotion or smoothing serum if you need to tame any natural texture, including frizz. Comb through to distribute evenly and then layer on a root booster at the scalp, concentrating on the top of your head.

Power dry your hair so that about half of the moisture is removed and then divide your hair into two sections. Create a part from the top of your ear on one side and continues horizontally across to the top of your ear on the other side. Leave the section at your neck down but clamp everything else up out of the way.

Take smaller subsections and blow dry using a concentrator on the end of your blow dryer. Roll the brush several times to add control and to produce a smooth finish with a slight bend under. When you finish this portion, drop another section and continue drying subsections.

When you get to the top of your head, continue working in small subsections, but lift the section up as you blow dry while rolling the brush. This will create lift at the root and a volumized bend through the length.

Once hair is completely dry, start at the neck area and mist 1-2 inch sections with working spray. Wrap the section tightly around a 1.25-inch curling iron. Hold the iron in place for several seconds to set the curl and then release. Contune with all subsections and then drop the next section (taking a parting from temple to temple) and repeat the process with each subsection. When you reach the top of your head, take even larger sections and roll them away from your face. Hold in place for several seconds and release. Transfer the section to a Velcro roller, rolling hair away from your face.

Allow hair to cool completely (this is a good time to do your makeup) and then undo the rollers. Run your fingers through your hair to break up the sections. Create a deep side part and smooth the top to the other side. Tuck the side with the part behind your ear and then twist the section several times along the hairline, rolling hair away from your face. Pin this section back to the side of your neckline and mist with more spray to provide a lasting hold.
