ECRU NYC Academy Grand Opening

Prestige hair and beauty brand, ECRU New York recently celebrated the grand opening of its namesake academy in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. The ECRU New York Academy is designed to empower stylists by offering opportunities that will motivate and inspire performance, attitude, and growth.

“Our promise is to deliver superior education to stylists and makeup artists all over the world, expanding their knowledge, while ultimately allowing their artistry to flourish to new dimensions,” said ECRU CEO and Founder Carmen DePasquale.

ECRU NYC Academy Grand OpeningMayor Kurt Peluso and Deputy Mayor Gail Rottenstrich attended the event, presenting DePasquale with a certificate declaring September 17, 2018, as ECRU New York Academy Day within the borough of Fair Lawn.

Via guided immersive tours, guests experienced a sampling of the academy’s vast array of educational classes, including Texture Exposed, the Artistry and Business of Hairdressing, and Photo Conception. Models were on-site for live demonstrations to reflect the curriculum of the Academy, and outfitted in this season’s latest fashion supplied by a designer co-op, Flying Solo. The artistic vision for the evening, led by ECRU New York Global Director of Education, Amanda Jenkins, ECRU New York Creative Director, Lisa Lobosco, and the ECRU New York Creative team, encapsulated the very essence of the ECRU New York Academy.

ECRU NYC Academy Grand Opening“Tonight is all about celebrating our academy, and we wanted to showcase, through the models’ looks, a representation of the classes we offer and all the techniques and looks our students will learn. For 2019, we’re focusing on texture and structure in our courses,” explains Jenkins.

The ECRU New York Academy will offer various classes each year for licensed professionals, such as The Trend Report, The Razor’d Edge, and Cut and Style Progression designed to set up stylists for both business and artistic success.

“What we wanted to do was uplift the industry and continue to help educate hairdressers, making them more confident in their business. No matter what level of artistry you are at, we have a class that will compliment you,” Jenkins adds.
